I am Kat Oliver, from Central Virginia in the USA. I have a small sheep farm, raising 53 Shetland mostly and a few Gotland and crosses. I have had a farm business on the side for nearly 20 years as I did other work from owning a yarn shop, then owning a wholesale hand dyed yarn business to working as a travel agent. Now forced into "retirement" from the travel biz due to covid, doing the farm business full time selling yarn developed from my sheep, along with patterns, kits, Landscapes dyes and my Shepherd's Socks knitted on a sock machine using my sheep's wool. My hubby is now partnering with me on a new venture, hosting a private campsite on our farm through a company called Tentrr. I mostly spin, knit, embroider and sew, but have dabbled in weaving. I do have a 4 harness floor loom but have not gotten past my 1st project on it: the dish towels that are still sadly waiting to be finished. I really do want to weave so thought if I could get a smaller loom and learn some techniques, that could get me going. So I recently bought a rigid heddle loom and had just stained it along with the stand, then saw this class in the wool week selection. Meant to be! Looking forward to it. I am in the Tuesday class. (Side note...I am doing this in between 2 fiber festivals I am vending at; one on Sep 25-26 and one Oct 2-3...but did not want to miss this!) Cheerfully
